I purchased the Rockingham Depot to preserve history and trail access for the public.
 
I have had the pleasure of meeting so many trails enthusiasts of different ages, backgrounds, and usage interests. The impact of preservation should not  be understated.
 
The residents of Newfields have been afforded the opportunity to Save Fort Rock.  This project will be done in partnership with the Trust for Public Land and will ensure durable access to the Fort Rock Trails for generations to come.
 
This purchase, like many other community forests across the country, will be guided by the Federal Yellow Book standard.  This comprehensive appraisal process ensures that the purchase price is fair and justified.   This process also ensures that non-profit entities DO NOT pay above the federal appraised value.  This is known as the Private Benefit.
